Das ist selbst in Europa oft nicht ganz einfach, noch viel schwieriger ist es aber in Entwicklungsl\u00e4ndern z.B. in Afrika. Die Digitalisierung bietet hier jedoch viele Chancen, neue Wege zu gehen. Diese Chance haben Frau Prof. Dr. Uta Dickh\u00f6fer und ihr Team am <em>Fachgebiet f\u00fcr Tierern\u00e4hrung und Weidewirtschaft in den Tropen und Subtropen<\/em> der Universit\u00e4t Hohenheim erkannt und sich zum Ziel gesetzt, die Milchviehf\u00fctterung in Afrika zu verbessern, indem sie den Landwirten ihre Forschungsergebnisse mit Hilfe von Smartphones direkt \u201ein die Hand geben\u201c.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Milchviehbetriebe in Afrika<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kleine und mittlere Milchviehbetriebe spielen eine bedeutende Rolle in der Versorgung mit Milch und Milchprodukten und als Einkommensquelle f\u00fcr Millionen von Menschen im sub-saharischen Afrika. Die Betriebe halten meist 1-15 Milchk\u00fche lokaler Rassen oder deren Kreuzungen mit exotischen Milchviehrassen wie Holstein- oder Jerseyrindern. Die F\u00fctterung basiert je nach Jahreszeit auf Weidefutter, angebauten Futtergr\u00e4sern, Ernteresten (z.B. Stroh und Laub von Kulturpflanzen) und zugekauften Kraftfuttermitteln. Insbesondere der Mangel an Grundfutter und dessen geringer Futterwert, aber auch fehlende Kenntnisse zur F\u00fctterung und zu einem, dem Bedarf der Tiere angepassten, Einsatz von Kraftfuttern, begrenzen die Gesundheit und Leistung der Tiere und somit die Profitabilit\u00e4t der Milchviehhaltung. Wir wollen den Landwirten daher eine digitale Entscheidungshilfe bereitstellen, anhand der sie Informationen zu ihren Futtermitteln bekommen und die F\u00fctterung ihrer Tiere verbessern k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Start des Tropenprojekts<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Im ersten Schritt der Entwicklung wurde das Futterbewertungsmodell mit Bedarfswerten f\u00fcr Energie und Protein der lokal genutzten Milchviehrassen unter dortigen Haltungsbedingungen angepasst. Eine weitere wichtige Datengrundlage ist die Futtermitteldatenbank. Hier wurden Informationen zum Futterwert wichtiger tropischer Grund- und Kraftfutter aus vorherigen Studien des Fachgebietes, aber auch aus wissenschaftlichen Publikationen und \u00f6ffentlich zug\u00e4nglichen \u00dcbersichtstabellen in einer Datenbank zusammengetragen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An diesem Punkt begann unsere Zusammenarbeit. Aus dem vorhandenen Wissen und gegebenen Daten hat fodjan eine individuelle App-Version f\u00fcr Hohenheims Tropenprojekt entwickelt. Dieser erste Prototyp wurde von einer Masterstudentin der Universit\u00e4t drei Monate lang in Kenia in der Praxis getestet. Sie hat den lokalen Milchviehbauern die App vorgestellt, Rationen gerechnet und viele Ideen f\u00fcr die n\u00e4chsten Entwicklungsschritte gesammelt.
